Atlanta Community Leaders Tapped as Chairs for Skyland Trail's Annual Benefits of Laughter Fundraising Event
Skyland Trail, a non-profit treatment facility for adults with mental illness will be having its 15th annual Benefits of Laughter gala on October 17, 2012 at the St. Regis Atlanta Buckhead. Mary Johnson and Robin Howell have been selected as the Event Co-Chairs this year. These two have been very active volunteers in Atlanta and devoted friends to Skyland Trail.
The Honorary Chairs for the fundraising event are community leaders and long time supporters of Skyland Trail, William "Bill" H. Fox, PhD and his wife Carol. Bill is a member of the Board of Directors at Skyland Trail and has held various roles on the Personnel, Program, Executive and Financial Aid Commitees. He is also very active in the community and has served the leadership boards of the Alliance Theater, Lovett School, Halle Foundation and the Atlanta-Fulton County Library Foundation. Professionally, Bill served as Dean and Vice President of Emory University's Campus Life and later as Vice President for the Institutional Advancement, now Development and Alumni Relations, until his retirement. Carol is a member of the Skyland Trail Associates.
Comedy Entertainment for the event will be provided by The Capital Steps, a Washington, D.C. based political satire act. All proceeds from this "Seriously Funny Night" benefit Skyland Trail programs and services.
