Volunteer to Serve Lunches to Children in Your Community!

  • June 13, 2012

Smart Lunch,Smart Kid – with the help of local
volunteers – has served healthy meals to Atlanta children in need every weekday since May 29th, as well as providing educational enrichment opportunities.

The program is similar to Meals on Wheels, except that the lunches are delivered to children who receive free- and reduced-price lunches during the school year, and who don't have access to meal programs during the summer.

SLSK is operating out of Inman Park United Methodist (1015 Edgewood Avenue, Atlanta 30307) and Tucker First United Methodist (5095 LaVista Road Tucker 30084).

How Can I Help?

We need Volunteer Drivers!

These volunteers serve in 2-person teams, pledging to pick up lunches at 11:00 am from Inman Park UMC or Tucker First UMC and deliver lunches to one to three stops.

Detailed instructions/directions are provided, along with T-shirts and car magnets.

Volunteer Drivers assume the cost of gas and use of their car as part of their volunteering efforts.

For information on how you can make a difference contact Rachel Ruckart at 404-593-8190 or rruckart@actionministries.net.

Thank you!
