County to Cut Ribbon at Mason Mill Dog Park
The event will be held April 21 at 2:45pm.
I get emails from time to time about the Mason Mill Dog Park, which I believe is essentially open at this point.
But, if you want, the county is going to cut a proper ribbon on the place next month.
District 2 Commissioner Jeff Rader said the event will be held at Mason Mill Park on April 21 at 2:45pm, and county CEO Burrell Ellis will be there to congratualte the park and whatever dogs will inevitably be in attendance.
The county will also be serving dog treats and other giveaways, so come early.
Get your leash ready.
CORRECTION: The subheadline and story incorrectly stated the date and time when the county plans to cut the ribbon for the dog park. It is April 21 at 2:45pm. The error has been changed in the story.

The County needs to add benches INSIDE the fenced areas so owners can contol their dogs.
Also, some sort of shelter / cover INSIDE the fenced area would be nice. There will be no shade during the summer.

Also they should add a snack bar and a unicorn washing station. I'm just happy with what we got :)

I was just there yesterday and did not see a dogpark. Where is it located? Perhaps i looked over it.

It's now located on N. Jamestown Rd. near Blackshear Drive (Jamestown turns into Blackshear after a 90 degree turn). It's actually easier to get to from N. Druid Hills and Blackshear (will be on your left). If you stay on Jamestown and take the sharp turn to the left the park will be on your right. Take a camp chair and an umbrella b/c there's no where to sit yet and no shade to speak of.
