DeKalb Police Arrest 13 Believed Responsible for 20-Plus Burglaries
The incidents were mostly along the Buford Highway corridor.
Patch loyalist Tom Doolittle sent this to me. Someone at DeKalb County's north police precinct sent out a community notice last week detailing some of their recent work. It's worth noting.
From the email:
Over the last 8 days the North Precinct CID detectives have arrested 13 individuals responsible for over 20 burglaries and 2 individuals responsible for 5 entering autos. The incidents cover the area from Embry Hills to Druid Hills spanning the Buford Highway corridor.

It would be even better if the story ended with "there were no survivors."

Little extreme there, Brett, don't you think?

Jonathon - yes my comment may have been a bit extreme. But I have little sympathy for those that prey on others. We will now likely pay for these bums to go to jail, only to have them return to crime when they get out.

Just my 2 cents but shouldnt this article be on the Brookhaven Patch since the info contained is more about that area. My info is the DeKalb Police Center Precinct located off of LaVista Rd covers more of Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch community and the North Precinct handles he area north (or west of 85) from Atlanta up to Shallowford or Chamblee Tucker Rd.

It could go in both, Enuff Govt Already. Most of the Buford Highway corridor is in my coverage area. Granted, it's the very edge of my coverage area, but it's there.

Embry Hills is in the Druid Patch area--it is part of the Lakeside High School zone--and quite quickly spills into Livsey in the Tucker zone. News should be shared between Patches anyway.
Also Buford Highway was selected out of Brookhaven--and the CID/LCI proposal for Druid/Clairmont/Shallowford corridor includes Buford Highway up to PDK Airport.
The way we're reporting this article points out the "pointlessness" and difficulty of defining neigborhoods in this area and the only thing left to do is cross-communicate.
For instance anything that happens in the Northlake Mall area pertains to the Druid Patch and the Tucker Patch residential zones.
