Despite Freeze, Some Businesses Reopen
Roads in North Druid Hills remained covering in ice and snow Tuesday. With temperatures to dip again tonight, conditions likely won't improve.
Some businesses in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area reopened Tuesday despite ice-covered roads and few customers.

Despite iced-over roads and uncleared parking lots, some businesses in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area reopened Tuesday after being closed Monday.
Though DeKalb County work crews haven't cleared, salted or sanded many–if not all–streets in the community, some people returned to the roads.
Here's a list of establishments open in our area. Most said they weren't sure when they'd close because temperatures are supposed to drop again this evening, making the re-frozen roads treacherous again.
Need to stock up on groceries?
- Bismillah Supermarket, 4022 Buford Highway. How long they stay open depends entirely on how many customers they get, a clerk said.
- Cherians International Groceries, 752 DeKalb Industrial Way. The store closes at 9pm, a clerk said.
- CVS, 2830 North Druid Hills Rd. They have no plans to close, a clerk said.
- Kroger, 2875 North Decatur Rd. They are open 24 hours a day and have no plans to close, a clerk said.
- Oak Grove Market, 2757 Lavista Rd. The store closes today at 4pm, a clerk said.
- Publix, 2969 North Druid Hills Rd. A clerk said they don't know when they'll close.
- Publix, 2562 Shallowford Rd. A clerk said they don't know when they'll close.
- Publix, 2162 Henderson Mill Rd. A clerk said they don't know when they'll close.
- Publix, 3870 North Druid Hills Rd. The store is open until 4pm.
- Supermercado el Latino, 2714 Shallowford Rd. They plan to close around 9pm, a clerk said.
Want to eat out?
- Bambinelli's Ristorante, 3202 Northlake Parkway. The restaurant will close around 7:30pm, an employee said.
- Fellini's Pizza, 2820 Lavista Rd. The restaurant will close around 6:3opm or 7pm, an employee said.
- The Grove, 2751 Lavista Rd. The restaurant/bar will close around midnight.
- Hop Shing, 2566 Shallowford Rd. The restaurant may close around 8pm, an employee said.
- Lucky China, 2179 Lawrenceville Highway. The restaurant will close at 11pm, an employee said.
- Luqma Kabod House, 1706 Church St. The restaurant will be open until 6pm, an employee said.
- Melton's App & Tap, 2500 North Decatur Rd. The restaurant/pub will close no later than 9pm.
- New Paradise Chinese Restaurant, 4795 Buford Highway. The restaurant will close around 9:30pm, an employee said.
- Napoleon's, 2836 Lavista Rd. The restaurant will be open as long as customers are there, an employee said.
- Taqueria El Vecino, 2743 Lavista Rd. The restaurant will be open until about 9pm, an employee said.
- Waffle House, 2824 Chamblee Tucker Rd. The restaurant is open 24 hours a day and will not close.
