Getting a Taste of Greece
The 2011 Atlanta Greek Festival kicked off at the Greek Orthodox cathedral on Clairmont Road on Thursday.
Hundreds of visitors came out for the opening day of the 2011 Atlanta Greek Festival at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation off of Clairmont Road on Thursday. Thousands more are expected over the weekend.
The festival, which features all things Greek, runs Friday and Saturday from 11am until 11pm and Sunday from 11am until 7pm.
Visitors can taste a variety of different food and sweets, listen to live music, watch dancers glide across the floor and peruse numerous shops featuring jewelry, clothing, books and art. Children's activities, cooking demonstrations and tours of the worship area inside the Cathedral also run throughout the event.
