I agree with you. Between Zaxby's, Chik fil A, and now Golden Corral, there are now a bunch of unhealthy dining options in the area.

These restaurants will be very popular in this area. Now all we need is a fried fish house.

Steve - it's true "nobody is forcing you to eat there." But what's your point? You'd rather have loads of unhealthy chain restaurants in the area than interesting places that serve good, healthy food? I can definitely say I'll never eat at any of these places. We're turning into a country where every town is one chain after another while our population grows fatter and dumber.

Supreme Fish inside North DeKalb Mall Food Court offers a variety of baked fish options with side salads, and are now offering a selection of fresh fruit juices. Please don't overlook these small businesses that are providing healthy options right here inside the mall. The mall is working on leasing a food court spaces to a deli and have talked with a smoothie business, not to mention the upcoming produce stand where the community garden produce will be sold on weekends. There will always be the national restaurants with mostly unhealthy options, but the mall is working hard at providing those alternative healthy choices!

Whoa! Hold on! I LOVE Golden Corral and it's mostly because I CAN eat healthy there. They have tons of fresh veggie choices - and yes, you CAN get the ones with unhealthy sauces but I don't. I What I like is the huge variety of fresh, healthy choices. I'm amazed that y'all see it as an unhealthy restaurant. I see it as a something-for-everyone, health conscious or not. I'm delighted we're finally getting one in the neighborhood.

Trough feeding.. Susan is not the usual customer. A lot of people figure they've paid for 'all you can eat" and they do just that. I've eaten at Golden corrals in several states - and there are good ones - and some yukky ones. I'd have to see which category this one falls into. I also noted the author talked about taking down the Checker's. Folks that has been a big empty space for months. If Chick Fi-le gets bigger, okay; the corner will look better. I'd love to join you at these places, but economics and my weight say no.

I hate to kill people's fat/dumb/buffet stereotypes, but Susan speaks the truth. I ate there with my cousin, and all she had were veggies, and, I have another veg friend who likes eating there because of all the options.

I have no complaints about anything that will revive that God-forsaken mall, and it would be nice to see it brought back to life. The Marshalls was a good start. I have no idea how that Macy's stays in business though. The few times I have been in over the past couple of years it was super dead. Perhaps, and maybe luckily, they have a lease it would be too costly to get of.

If it's unhealthy don't eat there. Its popular, family oriented, great work lunch options. Chain restaurants are mostly what is in the city. Unless small family restaurants can make it here and bring diversity with quality service.
