Henderson Middle 'Desperate' for Spanish-Speaking Volunteers

The school needs volunteers to help replace an interpreter who was a victim of DeKalb County School System budget cuts.

Henderson Middle School is "desperate" for Spanish-speaking volunteers, according to an email sent to parents today.

The school lost a Spanish interpreter to budget cuts, the email said, and someone who can speak with parents during upcoming school events are sorely needed.

From the email:

Due to recent DCSD budget cuts, HMS no longer has an Intepreter on staff.  We are in desperate need of volunteers who speak Spanish who can help out our non-English speaking parents during Sneak Peek.  If you, or someone you know, might be able to fill this role, please contact Danielle Goselin at dgoselin@gmail.com.

We will also need translators at various events throughout the year, so if you aren't able to assist at Sneak Peek, but might be available another time, please email henderson.ptsa@gmail.com with your name & contact information.

The school's Sneak Peak event is Aug. 8.
