Henderson Middle Teacher Takes National 'Life Changer' Award
Dale Duncan, a chorus teacher, was surprised by students who announced the award Friday morning.
A Henderson Middle School chorus teacher was surprised Friday morning when he found out he'd won a national award for positively affecting students' lives.
Dale Duncan, who was nominated for Life Change of the Year award by the National Life Group, a financial services company.
Atlanta's 11Alive captured video of Duncan during the surprise ceremony. It's great video. Check it out.
From the story:
Four of Duncan's students nominated him for the award. They pointed to Duncan's passion and high energy way of teaching, which sometimes includes summersaults and other acrobatics when he approves of a student's performance.
"He's my rock," said student Roni Wagner. "I look forward to it the entire day. If I have a bad day I say, hold on until 7th period, Mr. Duncan will make everything alright."

Congrats Mr. Duncan--my daughter loved your chorus classes and I enjoyed helping out.
With respect to the TV news report--altho I certainly appreciate good news from this area, I find the manner of reporting cynical. This is a good news community story and would ordinarily be handled much differently.
It was made into a political reminder that DeKalb is under a cloud--and gives aid and comfort to the people that are behind "regime change"--and foments more piling on--as if any more is needed.
The DeKalb references are such a stretch from the real news about Duncan that it should now be obvious to people what a tool these manipulators are.
I know Dale Duncan and I'm damn sure he didn't like his hard work used in someone's other agenda.
