Northlake Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Apartment
The 37-year-old victim lost about $6,100 in the robbery.
A Northlake man was robbed of several thousand dollars at gunpoint as he left his apartment Friday, DeKalb County police said.
The man, 37, was walking toward his vehicle on the parking deck of The Ava apartment complex in the 2200 block of Parklake Drive when he was approached from behind by a man pointing a black 9mm handgun at him at about 9:30 p.m., the police report said.
"Give me all of your [stuff]," the robber said.
The suspect took a cash desposit bag with $6,100 in it – the man owns a nearby gas station – a cell phone, car keys, house keys and the station's keys. The robber got into a white Honda Civic driven by a second suspect and fled in an unknown direction.
A witness also told police he approached the Civic while the robbery was underway, and the robber pointed his gun at him to get him to step aside so they could drive away.
The first suspect was described as a black male with a light brown complexion and about 5 feet 6 inches tall with a low-cut hair style. He wore a white T-shirt. The second suspect was also described as a black male with a light brown complexion and about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a low-cut hair style. He also wore a white T-shirt.

Wait a minute. Young black men committing violent crime in Atlanta? Wow, I am so surprised. But let's all stay politically correct, right? Remember, avoiding saying anything bad about black people is more important than reality and the safety of you and your family. Remember that. This town will crucify you if you state facts.

Sounds like the Gas Station owner needs to get a GFL and buy a pistol & learn how to use it! The only thing that will stop these robbing POS criminals is a shot to the head! No one will miss the thief but their Mother!

Thanks for using the term "Northlake"--and recognizing that the place is in the Briarcliff "area" and the Lakeside high school zone. The subject isn't the most flattering for economic development branding purposes, but as Donald Trump has said many times, "all news is good news".

Your right. It doesn't sound good for this area. Unfortunately, since all those apartments were built this has been happening in our neighborhood more and more.
