The March 6 presidential primary is quickly approaching.

If you want to participate but haven't registered to vote, you need to move fast. Monday, Feb. 6, is the deadline to register.

Go to the Georgia Secretary of State's office to check your registration status and to find other information such as your poll location and early voting places. The link also has a tab for you to register to vote.

The March 6 presidential primary in Georgia will help decide the Republican nominee to run for president against Barack Obama.

Newt Gingrich, whose campaign headquarters are in Buckhead, is battling Mitt Romney, Rich Santorum and Ron Paul for the nomination.

Early and absentee voting starts Feb. 13. Oct. 8 is the deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election.
