Once an Arby's, Now a Kitsch'n 155

An out-of-towner drove through Decatur recently and found himself falling in love with Kitsch'n 155 on Clairmont Road.

Although the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area really has no downtown area, no Main Street, no central anything to speak of, we do seem to have a number of establishments that people seem to view as recreational destinations.

One Chicagoan believes we should count Kitsch'n 155 among them.

Lee Bey was in town recently and stumbled upon the re-designed Arby's building and had a meal. And he loved it apparently.

From his post for WBEZ-91.5 in Chicago:

Stewart and his wife Lisa restored and remodeled the former Arby's into the current retro-style restaurant where burgers are big--and good--and the shakes are creamy. There is no drive-through; bathrooms are around back. Lisa said the biggest revelation was finding and restoring an original lighted, curved ceiling hiding above a dropped-ceiling added after Arby's vacated the building. The find makes all the difference.

Kitsch'n 155's charms are no stranger to us. We ran a feature on the place shortly after it opened. Here are two links:

What do you guys think of the restaurant? Have you been there? Tell us in the comments section below.

I love this place. The burgers are awesome, but the best deal is the daily blue plate special. A made-from-scratch entree and two of their awesome sides. I especially like the seared asparagus which they usually have, but not always, and the sweet potato fries. Yummy!
