School's Out, So Boy Shoplifts at Target
A 13-year-old boy admitted to police on Sunday that he's stolen from the store four times since the last day of school.
A 13-year-old boy arrested for shoplifting at Target in North Druid Hills on Sunday told DeKalb County police he's stolen from the store four times since the end of the school year.
A store employee called police after he noticed a young boy removing items from shelves and placing them inside his bookbag around 2pm, the police report said. He was grabbed by the store's loss prevention worker and interviewed, and he said he'd stolen from the store previously.
A responding police officer found several pairs of earrings and other jewelry in the boy's shorts, and he was wearing two necklaces he admitted to stealing. He also had two pairs of stolen shoes and a hat in his bookbag.
The boy was arrested and taken to the county's juvenile detention center.
