Social Media Ablaze With Speculation About Atkinson's Future

DeKalb school board says there's nothing to confirm or deny.

 

Twitter is ablaze with rumors that DeKalb County schools Superintendent Cheryl Atkinson will resign.

The school board is currently under probation by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools.

That would be a terrible start. Dr. Atkinson has proven abilities. She also has non-inflation-adjusted QBE funding reduced further by austerity cuts and inadequate book prices. If we raise our funding to quality levels, say $15,000/student, then Dr. Atkinson can get the job done. With $7,000/student, none of us could get DCSD off probation.
