St. Pius Hosts Second Annual Chariot Race

Latin III honors students participate in event, Albus Leo squad winners

St. Pius X Catholic High School held their second annual chariot race Tuesday morning at Maloof Stadium.

The honor students of Latin teacher Susan Belmonte's class built five self made factions (chariots), which consisted of one charioteer and three horses. The students represented the horses in this particular race. There were two preliminary heats and a final race with each race consisting of one-half of a lap around the track.

The race also included a video element that was broadcasted online at www. GHSA.tv/stpius.
