Uncle Maddio's Pizza House Expanding to Northlake
The regional chain, which started in Toco Hill, will move into Northlake Festival early next year.
I've written a bit about the struggling commercial corridor up there in Northlake. (Northlake Festival Shopping Center and such.) I was just up there yesterday, however, eating a little Panda Express while reading and finishing up on some work, and, dare I say, it looked like the community might be rebounding a bit.
And with that, here's some news that Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint will move into Northlake Festival sometimes early next year, according to Tomorrow's News Today.

Atlanta-based Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint plans to open sometime early next year at Northlake Festival. Uncle Maddio's at Northlake will be located in a portion of what was once The Sport Shoe, and was most recently a CLEAR Wireless Internet location. The Northlake franchisee reportedly plans to open "in January" but I'd wager they won't open until closer to March.
The fast casual pizza joint will not be alone in the Northlake area. Pizza Hut closed their dine-in full service restaurant in Briarcliff Village last year, and then relocated to an inline take out / deliver location not far away. Another Atlanta-based pizza concept, Stevi B's, a pizza buffet similar to CiCi's Pizza, also has a location in Briarcliff Village.

Also, remember the quickly expanding Uncle Maddio's started in Toco Hills Promenade. So, if that chain ever turns into a fast-casual behemoth, we were there at the beginning.

Glad to hear something is going in that spot. Even if it is another pizza place. Yes, there is activity in the area.

Northlake Festival needs a total redevelopment, somewhat along the lines of the Forum - this would be the time to do it as Bally's and Haverty's have closed, so there is no displacement of an anchor tenant.. The Northlake area is relatively wealthy, but the owners of the retail centers in the area - including Simon , the owner of the mall are not servicing the needs or wants of the nearby population, thus the retail struggles. Unfortunately, Uncle Maddio's has chosen a very difficult location in the Center. There is NO parking for that store.

That would be wonderful! If only that would happen. It would be an amazing catalyst for this area. Simon is not going to do anything with that eyesore Northlake Mall. Remember they also own Lenox & Phipps. They don't want competition for them.
You are correct about the parking in that spot. However, Starbucks seems to do ok.

I like that shopping center because it is just like it was in 1986...except now it is mostly empty.

Went to Fork in the Road tonight. Well fed and an interesting menu. I recommend it as far as Sports TV restaurants go.

A little OT here and I may be dating myself here, but I remember when there were cows in the field where Northlake Festival is. The WSB tower has been there as long as I can remember though. I'd rather have the cows back than have it continue as is. And while we're at it, when are they going to do something about that Kroger? It is dated and dangerous. We go to the Kroger down @ Toco Hills - "the Kosher Kroger" it seems much better maintained and stocked.
