1. CINCO DE MAYO BASH
When/Where: Thursday at the Tin Roof Cantina
Why Go: It’s Cinco de Mayo! If you’re looking for a place to celebrate, try the Tin Roof where specials will be offered all day and the Stevie Monce Band takes the stage at 10pm.

2. MOTHER’S DAY CRAFT
When/Where: Friday from 4pm to 5pm at the Mason Mill Recreation Center
Why Go: Children ages 5 through 12 years old are invited to Mason Mill to create a special card or keepsake to give on Mother’s Day. What's more special than handmade art from the heart?
Pricing: Free.
3. MEDLOCK DAY OPEN HOUSE CELEBRATION
When/Where: Saturday from noon to 4pm at Medlock Elementary School
Why Go: Join current and former students, staff, teachers, and community members in a celebration of Medlock Elementary. There will be food, games for kids, and memorabilia on display.
Pricing: Free.
4. MARY SCOTT NATURE PARK OPENING CELEBRATION
When/Where: Saturday from noon to 3pm at Mary Scott Nature Park, 4150 Briarcliff Road, Atlanta, GA 30345. (Parking across the street at Briarcliff United Methodist Church.)
Why Go: Pack a picnic and head out to the official opening of Mary Scott Nature Park. The ribbon cutting ceremony will be at noon followed by a Family Social featuring a silent auction to raise funds for park improvements. An ice cream vendor will also be on hand and while you’re at the park, enjoy the children’s play area and a nature trail that highlights native plants and leads to an old homestead.

5. HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY BOWLING
When/Where: Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Suburban Lanes.
Why Go and Pricing: Every time I go bowling I wonder why I don’t do more bowling - it’s fun for the whole family. This weekend, to celebrate Mother’s Day, Suburban Lanes is offering moms free shoes and an hour on a lane (with up to 6 people per lane) for only $19.99. Don’t forget your socks!
