From sleep support to park support (and some relaxing entertainment in between), enjoy these weekend bets.
When/Where: Thursday from 6pm to 7pm in the DeKalb Medical Theatre
Why Go: If you are having problems with sleep - or if you wish to improve your sleep - this event is for you! Join Dr. Joseph Weissman, a DeKalb Medical neurologist, as he discusses overcoming sleep disorders. Weissman will offer tips for improving sleep and will also explain when help should be sought to treat sleep problems.
Pricing: This event is free but registration is required.
When/Where: Saturday from 9am to noon in Kittredge Park, 1520 Kittredge Park Rd NE
Why Go: Start your weekend volunteering for the community by joining the Friends of Kittredge Park for their monthly park clean up. Don’t forget to wear your sturdy working shoes for building hiking trails and clearing the woods of trash. Gloves, tools and refreshments will be provided!
When/Where: Saturday at 8pm, at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church.
Why Go: This concert will feature New Trinity Baroque musicians playing Mozart and Haydn serenades and string quartets on period instruments. Be transported and enjoy the music that defined the classical era. Don’t miss the pre-concert talk at 7pm. This is a kid-friendly event.

When/Where: Saturday at dusk (about 8:30pm), W.D. Thompson Park, 1760 Mason Mill Drive
Why Go: DeKalb County Recreation Parks & Cultural Affairs rotate Movies in the Park through six parks, May through August. This is the first movie night of the season and your only chance to watch a movie on the big screen in W.D. Thompson Park. Grab a blanket and some movie snacks and enjoy the show!
Pricing: Free admission
When/Where: Sunday from 9am to 11am at Ira B. Melton Park, Desmond Dr & Clairmont Rd.
Why Go: Join your neighbors for a quick Trail Project workday focused on the parks trailhead/entrance. If enough volunteers arrive, work will also target the back part of the trail. Bring gloves, tools and water and dig in!
