Why Go? It's a very popular annual event including rides, games, shopping, food and a drive-thru option for those who want the food without the crowds.

2. Briarlake Elementary School Clean-Up Days

When/Where: All day Saturday at Briarlake Elementary School (3590 Lavista Road, Decatur)

Why Go? Help beautify the campus of a school in the community. Please RSVP to briarlakepta@gmail.com because the dates and times may change.

3. Wildwood Concert and Silent Auction

When/Where: Saturday at 6 pm at Central Congregational United Church of Christ, 2676 Clairmont Road, Atlanta

Why Go? Central Congregational members will perform and the silent auction will benefit the church.

4. Clyde Shepherd Nature Preserve Volunteer Day

When/Where: Saturday from 9 am to noon at the Clyde Shepherd nature preserve, 2580 Pine Bluff Drive, Decatur

Why Go? The nature preserve needs volunteer help to keep being beautiful.

5. See 50/50

When/Where: See showtimes here for AMC North DeKalb 16 or here for Movie Tavern

Why Go? This original story (yes, a movie that's not a remake, a sequel or based on something else) of how friendship is changed by cancer looks like it could be pretty good, although its R rating means it is definitely not one for the kids.
