  1. THE UNDERGROUND THEATRE'S TIME OUT FOR GINGER
    When/Where: Tomorrow, 8:10pm, at Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta
    Why Go: In this popular ‘50s comedy, the father of three teenage girls has given a rousing speech advocating personal freedom for all. Now his two oldest daughters are refusing to take gym, and his youngest daughter, Ginger, is determined to go out for the boys’ football team. A girl playing football?  The high school principal, Ginger’s sisters and boyfriend and her Dad’s boss are up in arms when the idea of "personal freedom" goes waaay too far!

  2. BESTSELLING AUTHOR SUZANNE BROCKMANN
    When/Where: Saturday, 10am, at Eagle Eye Books, 160 Clairemont Ave.
    Why Go: Brockmann celebrates the publication of her 50th novel by talking about writing romance: from controlling and commanding the muse, to the important message in the stories we tell, to the business of marketing deep emotion.
    Pricing: $12 includes breakfast buffet
  3. WOODLAND HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION'S BBQ AND MOVIE NIGHT
    When/Where: Saturday, 6:30pm, 1068 Country Lane NE
    Why Go: Come for the BBQ and stay for the movie, Megamind, which will start at about 8pm. Bring chairs and blankets for seating. The association will supply burgers, hot dogs and soft drinks. You supply the sides and dessert.
    Pricing: When you RSVP, please indicate if you’re going to bring a dessert or a side.
  4. SAGAMORE HILLS ELEMENTARY GROUNDS WORK DAY
    When/Where
    : Saturday, Sagamore Hills Elementary School
    Why Go: Grounds work day at the school. Bring your gloves.
    Pricing: About as free as free gets.
  5. SILENT AUCTION AND CEILIDH AT SHALLOWFORD PRESBYTERIAN
    When/Where: Saturday, 5pm, Shallowford Presbyterian Church
    Why Go: A cèilidh (pronounced “kaylee”) is a traditional Gaelic social gathering with folk music and dancing. This fun and entertaining evening is for choir families, church members, close friends and family from the community. Auction proceeds benefit the Chapel Choir’s 2012 Scotland tour.
    Pricing: Free
