What Should Go Here?
Bhindi Center next to North DeKalb Mall is not doing well. There are several vacancies. What would you do to fill them?
Checking on the incoming Zaxby's next to North DeKalb Mall this week, I happened past the Bhindi Center, a small shopping center once featuring businesses with an international flavor such as Bhindi Jewelers.
Aside from Hot Breads, the center was essentially vacant this week. That whole corridor seems to be just hanging on as of late. Nearby Shamrock Plaza seems to do OK with its Publix anchoring everything (and we always see people at Cici's Pizza), but this place could use a facelift, could it not?
How would you redevelop Bhindi Plaza? Tell us in the comments section below.

The location is hampering occupancy (low traffic at the mall, no frontage or visibility from NDH). However, the three story building at Oaktree and NDH isn't thriving either. A revamped mall (or totally re-engineered site) may be the best answer. Maybe the Zaxby's will help.
RE: Trader Joe's has been asked repeatedly to consider our area and repeatedly says "no", from Oak Grove down to Suburban Plaza. Word on the street is that TJ overall is not performing well and expansion in some areas has halted.

it is such a shame to see what has become of North Dekalb Mall. It used to be such a great little mall, now it is just junk.
