What's Going On? - Sagamore Hills Power Easement

What’s going on?

A weekly question asked by a thirty something resident of the Sagamore Hills community

What’s going on?

This week- What’s going on at the power easement near Audubon Drive?

There are a lot of survey marks on the road and Port-A-John's conveniently placed at every road intersection with the easement.  The Port-A-John's are directly in the middle of the sidewalks too.  I am guessing that I need to thank GA Power this obstruction? But for what? I have not seen any postings of work being done (or how long) – the only postings I have seen are for the coyotes.   What’s going on?  What would you like to see at the power easement that runs all the way from I-85 though Medlock?

  1. PATH extension
  2. Connection to the Beltline
  3. Neighborhood gardens
  4. Overgrown/ Non functional space

Has everyone visited the South Peachtree Creek Trails over by Mason Mill Park? It's a wonderful trail that runs through tranquil woods and alongside the creek. There are residential properties that back up to the trail in places. I think it's time for Sagamore Hills to revisit the idea of a linear park along this power easement which, via Leafmore, will connect to the South Peachtree Creek Trail. It's a good idea for kids, adults, and seniors. And it's good for our property value.

Good morning GM-

I think that is a great idea. Who was the person that led that charge? I know the PATH had the money to do or start the project?

I love the idea of common space that is not just a sidewalk. It would be a great place for people to meet and greet.
AND it would activate a very inactive spot.

Finally, it would be a huge amenity. People of all ages would love this, and it would draw in even more prospective quality neighbors.
The more places the neighborhood members can socialize, the stronger it will be.
