TONIGHT: Cumberland Mall Salutes Military Members and their Families

Tonight from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., service members and their families will receive retailer discounts from stores like Aeropostale, Ashley Stewart and Jarman Shoes just by showing their military identification.

Active members of the Army, Navy and Marines kick off the event with a swearing in ceremony for new cadets at center court across from Starbucks.  Shoppers can pick up a postcard at the welcome table to show support by writing a personalized thank you to the troops.  Guests can also donate to the Operation Home Front care package.  Donations of soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant and other toiletries can be made at center court.

“Military appreciation day is Cumberland Mall’s way to say thank you to those who have sacrificed so much to ensure the freedoms we enjoy each day,” says general manager Lee Tharp.  “We hope that people will remember that troops are still deployed and their families need our support and encouragement.”
