Boy Scouts Host Pumpkin Patch at Briarcliff United Methodist

The Boy Scouts of Troop 534 are hosting a pumpkin patch at until the end of the month.

The pumpkin patch is open weekdays 5pm to 8pm, Saturday 10am to 8pm and Sunday noon to 8pm. Prices range according to pumpkin size.

The Boy Scouts expect to sell between $16,000 and $20,000 in pumpkins this year, and the scouts take a percentage of that.

Seventy five percent of funds raised will go to benefit the Boy Scouts program and their outings, while the other 25 percent helps the church's mission projects.

Cash and check are accepted.

CORRECTION: The article did not initially say the Boy Scouts only take a percentage of the total pumpkin sales revenue.

Your numbers are a bit misleading. The scouts are elibigle for 1/3 of the dollars collected for the pumpkins. Two thirds goes directly to PUMPKINPATCH.com for supplying us with the pumpkins to sell. The scouts then donate 25% of their proceeds to fun mission projects at Briarcliff United Methodist Church.

Thanks for your note, Carrie. I saw your comment at the same time our photographer was emailing me about the correction. I made it clearer in the story. What's your relationship to the scouts?
