Moms Talk: Childbirth Game Plans

Have another question to ask our parents council? Send it to jonathan.cribbs@patch.com or post it in the comments.

Each week Moms Talk will feature a discussion topic overseen by North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch's Moms Council. Feel free to discuss in the comments section. The question this week comes from Leigh William, a local doula and community resident.

Birth is a sacred experience that happens only once for each individual on earth. We simply don't get a redo. Therefore, most expecting parents spend endless hours attending childbirth classes, creating the "perfect" birth plan, researching places to have the baby, decorating the nursery and so much more. However, when the big day comes, we often as parents do not realize that our plan, no matter how perfect it may have seemed, does not quite work out the way we anticipate. How did your birth experience differ from your game plan, and what would you do differently, if anything, if you had it to do all over again?
