Food Critic Stops By North DeKalb Mall's Golden Corral

After it piqued his curiosity as it was being built, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's John Kessler decided to sample the new buffet restaurant's offerings.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's food critic, John Kessler, stopped by the new Golden Corral next to North DeKalb Mall recently and decided to review it as part of a series he's doing on 30 restaurants in 30 days.

It's of particular interest to me because Patch covered a few meetings when Golden Corral first announced their plans to come here, and we sort of kept track of the construction and posted a few things. We figured a few people might be interested.

Boy, were we off the mark.

The posts about Golden Corral are some of the most popular since the site launched in December 2010. Thousands of people read them. For months after the posts went up. People are obsessed with Golden Corral, and we did not know this.

So... Back to the AJC's review. Here's a excerpt:

I was honestly curious about this restaurant, particularly the one I observed going up earlier this year in the corner of the North Dekalb Mall parking lot. There are so many nights when my wife, kids and I want to catch a 7 o’clock movie at that mall and need to eat something fast, inexpensive and reasonably healthy beforehand.
