Celebrated Black Artist to Show Work at North DeKalb Mall

North DeKalb Mall and Unique Castle will host an Artist Signing by internationally acclaimed artist, Thomas Blackshear Monday, Nov. 26 from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. A viewing of his extensive art collection will begin at 4 p.m.

Raised in Atlanta, Thomas Blackshear is best known for his emotionally powerful work celebrating African American and Christian themes. His widely collected work has been showcased at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, and his original painting of Pope John Paul II was unveiled at the Vatican.

In 1995, Thomas Blackshear introduced Ebony Visions, the first ever high-end line of collectible figurines reflecting the unique interests of the African American community. The scope of this collection is extraordinary, incorporating spiritual, romantic and historical themes, scenes of children and their mentors, as well as depictions of contemporary American life.

Space for the event is limited so please arrive early. Come meet and greet the artist and have event purchased “Blackshear” collectibles signed by the artist. Complimentary photos with the artist will be available on-site with purchase of any Thomas Blackshear item. Otherwise photos are available for a nominal fee.
