Toco Hill's Caribou Coffee Closes

Sunday was the Toco Hill location's final day for business.

If Caribou Coffee in Toco Hill was your place to stop for a morning pick-me-up, we've got, uh, bad news.

It's closed.

Sunday was the shop's final day for business. It was shuttered as part of the national chain's recently announced plan to close about 80 stores and covert some of them to tea shops.

The closures and conversions affected a number of Caribou locations across the metro Atlanta area, according to Tomorrow's News Today. So, if you're a Caribou loyalist, you can check there to see if any of your other options in the area might be affected.

When you need coffee in our community, where do you go? Are you a Starbucks person? Or do you favor independent shops such as Atlanta Coffee Roasters? Tell us in the comments section below.

I loved Caribou. Luckily I heard this news last week, in time to get a final Campfire Mocha before they shut their doors. It would be nice if they converted this location into a Peet's, but I don't think they are planning to.

Maybe Einstein's will take over what little space Caribou occupied as they share the building and had a pass thru...

It's hard to beat Goldberg's, where for $2.95 you get a bagel, single egg cooked as desired (or hard boiled), and choice of six coffee flavors (one is decaf). Or you can pay slightly more for extra toppings such as cheese and lox. There is no tip. You can't sit in the back where there is a wait staff. But you can sit in front, eat your bagel and egg, use the condiments and jelly, and then refill your coffee before departing. The seating is comfortable and the cashiers are very pleasant.

They had great smoothies, too. Mango-Orange-Key Lime. White Peachberry. I'm bummed. Sorry Caribou Coffee.

Provided I am addicted to Starbucks, but I recently went to Atlanta Coffee Roasters and really enjoyed that as well.... will probably 50/50 between the two of them... Bring from the NYC/CT area, I find both Einsteins and Goldberg's to be horrible abominations... the Bagel Palace across the street from Einsteins is just INCREDIBLE. It may cost more, but you can't put a price on quality and having a bagel done correctly...
