DeKalb Mobile Career Center Rolls Through October

DeKalb County Interim Lee May announces the October 2013 schedule for DeKalb’s Mobile Career Center. The center, which is also known as the county’s “Jobs Bus,” will be stationed at various locations throughout DeKalb County during the month of October. The mobile unit provides work readiness services to help put DeKalb County citizens back to work.

Through an outreach approach, the mobile unit provides residents with essential services, including job search assistance, adult workshops and training, resume writing pointers, and interviewing tips. Businesses are also able to use the mobile unit for recruiting, pre-employment screenings, interviewing, and training. More than 2,000 DeKalb residents have used the mobile career center’s services since its launch in February 2012.  The mobile center is funded through the Workforce Investment Act grant and all services offered are free.
