Is Clairmont and Briarcliff Becoming a Nighttime Destination?

New, trendy development (arguably including a QuikTrip) has spruced up the business district in recent years.

Patch has been stopping by the new QuickTrip at Briarcliff and Clairmont roads late at night on occasion, and we noticed something: There are a lot of people hanging out around this intersection on the weekend.

To a degree, we're new to an old story here because that area has been a center for Ethiopian businesses for a few years counting at this point. (Desta Ethiopian Kitchen, for instance, is fantastic and one of the only decent local restaurants opened late. It closes at midnight on the weekends.)

But on a recent Saturday night, loads of people were filing in and out of the QuikTrip, presumably after leaving Mint or Therapy or Desta or one of the other establishments nearby. It seems as if the area has perked up a bit in recent years/months.
