Northlake Mall: Stores Had Strong Black Friday Sales

Stores such as Kohl's and Macy's, which opened at midnight, did especially well.

Northlake Mall turned out a strong Black Friday, a mall spokeswoman said last week.

Stores that opened early, such as Kohl's and Macy's, which opened at midnight, did especially well, spokeswoman Shelley Korenbrot told Neighbor Newspapers.

From the story:

“Our stores that opened midnight had a great run,” said mall spokeswoman Shelley Korenbrot. “Kohl’s had a long line that wrapped around the building to go in and everyone was going after their door-buster items. Macy’s also opened at midnight and they did really well on their door-buster items too.”

Sears opened even earlier at 8 p.m. Thursday.

“They had a ton of people waiting for the electronic specials,” Korenbrot said. “They sold out of those."

I barely remember the last time I was in a shopping mall to go Christmas shopping. I tend to order stuff online and ship them to wherever I'm heading for Christmas that year.

Me too, Jonathan! Waiting in long lines to save a few bucks isn't something I feel moved to do.
