The Fresh Market Coming to Former Loehmann's Plaza

The specialty grocery store will be located at the intersection of North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads, in the former Loehmann's Plaza, which is being redeveloped and renamed Brighten Park.

The specialty grocery chain The Fresh Market is adding another location in Atlanta, according to a news release.

The store, expected to open in the summer of 2015, will be located at the intersection of North Druid Hills and Briarcliff Roads, in the former Loehmann’s Plaza, which is being redeveloped and renamed Brighten Park.

The chain has 12 stores in Georgia, including a location at 5515 Chamblee-Dunwoody Road in Dunwoody.

The stores focus on selling fresh produce, baked breads and pastries, a butcher shop with hand-cut meats, fish market and a diverse selection of beer and wine. According to the company’s website, shoppers should expect to find classical music playing, fresh-cut flowers, and even free samples of fresh brewed coffee.

The stores are small in size compared to groceries that carry housewares and other non-grocery items, but filled with bulk items like the general store of the past.
