Walmart Returns to Table at Suburban Plaza

The owner of the plaza appeared before a county community council meeting recently with redevelopment plans that feature Walmart as anchor.

The plan has WalMart as an anchor. Other retailers were approached, but Walmart was apparently the only one with funding and interest.Β  Walmart has offered to place underground all of their parking spaces and to add extensive landscaping.

When North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch , it created a bit of a stir. There are a few fans of the multi-national retailer, but the majority of the comments seemed to oppose the opening a the store (and suggested public financing for that redevelopment recevied a chilly reception).
