What Should Go Here?

Quizno's in Toco Hill Shopping Center bounced a few months ago. I'm not one for chain stores, but Quizno's knew how to make a sandwich. But times change and so must we. Tell us, what should go there now?

I come from a father who knew sandwiches. Drop him in any spot within a 150-mile radius of my hometown of Owings, MD, and he could tell you, "They've got good sandwiches over there."

He was a real estate appraiser. Spent a lot of time in his car.

So, I ate a lot of Subway growing up. And I ate a lot of sandwiches. (Probably too many sandwiches if we're being honest.)

But later on, in my late teens, Quizno's restaurants started popping up. But I have trouble patronizing foreign brands, and I didn't really go in one until I moved to North Druid Hills in 2010.

As chain sandwich shops go, I gotta say, Quizno's is more expensive than Subway, but you know where your money goes. It's better. Plus, it's got that crazy toaster conveyor belt. It's like if Henry Ford engineered your footlong chicken carbonara. And, if memory serves, Subway didn't even start offering to toast your subs until Quizno's showed up on the scene years ago.

So, I ate at the Quizno's in Toco Hill Shopping Center, 2859 North Druid Hills Rd., a bunch of times before it closed several months ago. But times change. And they must. I try to eat fewer sandwiches now.

But what should replace Quizno's? Another sandwich shop? Another eatery? Maybe something else. Tell us in the comments section below.
