The “Oak GROOVE“ Festival planning committee recently met at Sprig Restaurant .  The group of community leaders in the Oak Grove area are  joining together to create the first ever neighborhood festival, “Oak GROOVE” on Sunday May 5th, 2013 from 1 pm to 6 pm. The goal of the festival is to  bring together the community for fun, friendship and support for our neighborhood.  The proceeds from the festival will benefit green space projects along the LaVista/Briarcliff corridor.

The festival will feature local businesses, artists, entertainers from the areas of Sagamore Hills, Oak Grove, Leafmore, Briarlake, Shallowford, Hawthorne and North Briarcliff.  Restaurants will have free tastings as well as food for sale.  There will be a stage for musical performances and vendors with a variety of art forms and a kids area with bounce houses, crafts, and games. Community organizations, churches, neighborhood associations, local schools and other volunteers are encouraged to contact the planning committee to get involved with the festivities.  Already scheduled bands include: “Sizzle, Hiss, Pop”, “Frets on Fire”, “Deja Blue Grass” and the headliners will be “The Mike Veal Band.”
