And, Still, More Coyotes

This will be the last coyote posting for some time unless one of these animals actually damages something, but I'm still surprised to some degree by these sightings. I wasn't aware coyotes even lived in this region until one of my reporters told me she wanted to . (I've lived in Georgia for only a few years.)

Regardless, Brad Grulke, head of the Woodland Hills Neighborhood Association off LaVista Road sent out an alert to the community's residents today, warning them about another coyote sighting. Just a good thing to keep in mind if you let small animals out alone at night or something to go to the bathroom. Maybe not such a brilliant idea.

Here's Grulke's email:

I received an email recently from one of our resident alerting me to the fact that she had seen coyotes near her [residence].  After calling Animal Control they told her that "coyotes are harmless and learn to live peacefully with humans."

Regardless, please be aware of the situation and make sure to keep an eye on your small dogs and cats.
