Emory Student Selected for Prestigious Fellowship

Senior Dana Toy will travel to Asia as a Luce Scholar.

Emory University senior Dana Toy was one of 18 students selected as a 2012-13 Luce Scholar.

He will travel to Asia as a fellow and will gain hands-on experience in an international research lab.

Toy is the fifth Emory student to be selected for the prestigious fellowship since 2000.

The Luce Scholars Program aims to "enhance the understanding of Asia among potential leaders in American society."

"I am excited, honored and grateful to have such an amazing opportunity to follow my undergraduate experience at Emory," Toy said in a news release. "This fellowship is unique in that I have the opportunity to really mold the fellowship to meet my aspirations in becoming a physician and clinical researcher."
