Forecasters Say Rain, Snow Likely to Fall Overnight

For the Atlanta metro area, the National Weather Service is predicting about an inch to accumulate by morning.

Residents could wake up tomorrow with snow on the ground – not a whole lot of snow. About an inch probably, according to weather forecasters.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a winter weather advisory for the Atlanta metro area, including DeKalb County, from 6pm tonight until noon tomorrow.

The service expects rain or light snow to begin falling this evening, switching to all snow after 1am. Roughly an inch could accumulate in metro Atlanta by morning with 1 to 2 inches across north Georgia.

Roads will be slick if snow accumulates on them, particularly on bridges and overpasses, the service said. Visibility will likely be limited early in the morning.
