Run, read, build and cheer – It’s a full Saturday on this last weekend of February. Rain or shine, enjoy these...

When/Where: Register at any Big Peach Running Company by Thursday at 8pm or register on Saturday morning at by 7:30am. The One-Mile Fun Run begins at Shamrock Middle at 7:45am.
Why Go: While the main event is actually the 10K, which begins at Tucker High School and ends at Shamrock Middle, the whole family can support a great cause and have fun exercising together by participating in this One-Mile Fun Run.  After you run, head to the Bagel Palace to fuel back up for a busy day ahead.  
Pricing: One-Mile Fun Run is $15.00 (tax deductible) and 1oK is $25.00/$35.00 race day.

  • DR. SEUSS STORYTIME

When/Where: Saturday from 9:00am to 11:00am at Target North Druid Hills.
Why Go: Get all of your shopping done while also doing something fun with your children! Target, partnered with the National Education Association and its Read Across America program, presents this special storytime featuring Dr. Seuss favorites, giveaways and coupons.  
Pricing: Free.

  • STEMS CAREER COLLEGE DAY

When/Where: Saturday from 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Fernbank Science Center.
Why Go: The Fernbank Science Center is sponsoring this parent/student workshop for high school students interested in pursuing post-secondary education in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Don’t miss the opportunity to speak with representatives from colleges, universities, technical and trade schools and also with guests working in these fields.
Pricing: Free. While you're at Fernbank, don't miss the Winter Tree Sale also going on from 9am until noon.  See the full list of trees available here.

When/Where: Saturday from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Fernbank Science Center.
Why Go: Also at the Fernbank Science Center this weekend, build a toothpick bridge (anyone can enter) and then bring it to this event to be tested (until ultimately broken).  If you or your children don’t have time to build a bridge come anyway and think about constructing a bridge next year. Make sure to tour the Science Center while you visit.
Pricing: Free. No pre-registration required.

  • LAKESIDE HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY BASEBALL

When/Where:  Saturday at 1pm at 's Wilson Field.
Why Go: For a taste of spring, come out and support the Lakeside Vikings as they take on Arabia Mountain for the first home game of the season.
