Your family best bets of the week in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area.

This weekend brings the first day of Spring! Get out and about and enjoy these.

When/Where: Saturday at 6:00pm at , Heritage Hall.
Why Go: This is the debut of Shallowford’s Third Saturday Theater, and is open to the community.  Bring your picnic blankets (with picnic) or lawn chairs and enjoy Facing the Giants (rated PG), a story about football and faith. Doors open at 6:00pm and the movie will start at 7:00pm.
Pricing: Free.

When/Where: Saturday beginning at 8:15pm at Congregation Or VeShalom.
Why Go: Join Congregation Or VeShalom for this family friendly, and open to the community, Purim celebration.  Arrive at 8:15pm for Megillah reading and Havdalah and then enjoy Persian treats, a performance by the Seed & Feed Marching Abominable Band and costume competition.  RSVP by March 16th for best prices.
Pricing: Adult members $15.00, Non-members $20.00; Children 6-12 years old $10.00; Children 5 and under are free.  After March 16th all tickets are $20.00.

When/Where: Race begins on Saturday at 8:00am at , George B. Maloof Stadium.
Why Go: The Finish Lion, which benefits the SPX Alumni Scholarship Fund, is very family friendly with strollers and dogs (on leash) welcome. Race day registration begins at 7:00am but please note that race day registrations are not guaranteed a shirt that day.  Online registration has been extended through Wednesday, March 15th.
Pricing: Individual $20.00; Family of four $40.00; Children under 5 are free.

When/Where: Saturday from 8:00am to 4:00pm at .
Why Go:  If you will be grocery shopping this weekend, or even if you want to grab a quick lunch...this is a great excuse to visit Whole Foods as they celebrate the Whole Planet Foundation with giveaways, lunch, live music and food stations.
Pricing:  Event is free. Burger lunch (including chips and drink) between 11:00am and 2:00pm for a $5.00 donation.

When/Where: Saturday at the Alliance Theatre/Woodruff Arts Center
Why Go: This weekend is your last opportunity to catch Honk!, the musical for families based on The Ugly Duckling, before it closes.  And, for one day only, when you purchase tickets for the 1:00pm or 4:00pm performance, the whole family can enjoy a family fun fair in the Woodruff Arts Center Galleria.  The event will include puppet making, a family art project, performances, a DJ, theater games, and exclusive autographs from the cast of the musical.  
Pricing: Children $25.00; Adults $35.00.  Proceeds benefit Alliance Theatre educational programming.
