Mercer Ranks Among Top 10 Regional Schools in South for 13th Year

The Macon-headquartered school placed No. 9 in the Southern Regional Universities category.

, for the 13th consecutive year, has made the Top 10 in U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of regional universities in the South. 

Mercer is ranked No. 9 in the South in the 2012 Best Regional Universities category. That category covers schools in the South that offer a full range of undergraduate courses, some master's programs but few doctoral programs. Rollins College in Winter Park, FL, topped the list.

Mercer also ranked No. 7 in the South in the Great Schools, Great Prices category, and Mercer’s School of Engineering is once again ranked among the Top 50 undergraduate engineering programs in the nation.

The Great Schools, Great Prices ranking reflects the magazine’s selection of institutions based on a number of criteria, including academic quality and the net cost of attendance for students receiving need-based aid.

Mercer’s School of Engineering, which was established in 1985, consistently ranks among the country’s top engineering programs that offer the bachelor’s or master’s as their terminal degree. Mercer is one of only three undergraduate engineering programs in the Southeast to be in the 2012 U.S. News Top 50.
