North Druid Hills Avoids Deadly Storm's Devastation as Metro Area Prepares Relief Effort

Most communities through the area seemed essentially untouched following last night's storms and tornadoes that more than 200 people across six states.

If you took a slow drive around the major arteries of North Druid Hills and its surrounding communities Thursday morning, you wouldn't find any evidence of the massive storm front and tornadoes that swept across the Southeast Wednesday night, killing more than 200 people.

North Druid Hills seemed to essentially escape the devastation. But other communities across north Georgia weren't so lucky. . Gwinnett County firefighters were mobilizing Thursday morning to . The Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that 14 people were killed by storms across the state.
