Northlake-Area Residents Receive Chick-fil-A Scholarship

Nick Pallas and Lauren Spratte, both restaurant employees, received the $1,000 Leadership Scholarship.

Chick-fil-A has selected Northlake-area residents Nick Pallas and Lauren Spratte as recipients of the chain’s $1,000 Leadership Scholarship.

Pallas and Spratte were nominated by the Northlake Festival Chick-fil-A restaurant in Tucker. Pallas and Spratte have both worked for Chick-fil-A for more than four years. Pallas is studying finance at Georgia State University and will graduate in 2014. Spratte is majoring in marketing and will graduate from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business this spring.

“The program recognizes employees who demonstrate the leadership and character qualities to build a successful life, while offering tangible assistance to enrich their lives with education beyond high school,” said Brad Spratte, franchised Operator of the Northlake Festival Chick-fil-A restaurant. “These students have had a positive influence on our business for many years and both have the potential to accomplish great things.”

Since opening in May 2011, three Northlake Festival Chick-fil-A team members have received this scholarship.

The Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship Program began in 1973 out of founder Truett Cathy’s desire for restaurant employees to further their education. Since the program’s inception, more than 30,000 team members have received scholarships, bringing the total amount to more than $30.5 million.

As Leadership Scholarship winners, Pallas and Spratte are now eligible for the Chick-fil-A S. Truett Cathy Scholar Award, which provides an additional $1,000 scholarship to the top 25 Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship recipients each year.
