Georgia Power: Equipment Failure May Have Caused Outage
The company has restored power to more than 1,300 customers who lost it Friday evening.
Equipment faiure may have caused a disruption that shut off power for about 1,340 Georgia Power customers in North Druid Hills on Friday night, a spokeswoman said.
The outage occurred at about 6:35pm and left repair workers stumped as they searched the power line near the source of the outage for about an hour, said Lynn Wallace, a Georgia Power spokeswoman. As of Sunday, the company settled on the likelihood that equipment failure was the culprit, she said.
Nearly 400 people were still without power at about 8:30pm, she said, and power was restored to all customers shortly after 9pm.
