Residents: Plan Ahead for Georgia Marathon Street Closings on Sunday

Thousands of runners, volunteers and spectators may affect your nearby travel plans in the North Decatur, Druid Hills or Decatur areas for the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon.

Residents, take note. You may need to plan ahead and consider alternate routes for some Sunday morning activities due to the flow of runners passing through North Decatur, Druid Hills and Decatur for the Publix Georgia Marathon and Half Marathon.

Most of the runners passing through those communities will be taking part in the full marathon, which will have the biggest impact on Clairemont Avenue and North Decatur Road.

Street closings in the area could start at early as 7 a.m. and some streets are not schedule to be completely reopened before 1:15 p.m.
