The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area.

  1. : No shocker here. The biggest story of the last three months, a moment that most residents were cautiously anticipating. The DeKalb County Board of Education passed its school redistricting and consolidation plan. Most schools in our community got off relatively easy, but will close. We attempted to live blog the meeting, but when things got complicated, the blog got a little screwy.Β
  2. : Coyotes in the area has been a subject of growing interest over the last month. Patch contributor Diane Lupe talked to a number of people in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area who have had coyote encounters. Easily one of the most thoroughly reported articles to be published on the site, and it was very well-read.
  3. : We ran a popular profile of Col. Eric Boe, a former Henderson High School (now ) graduate who recently piloted the Discovery for her 39th and final flight into space.Β
  4. : Patch was lucky enough to sit down with Daron Joffe, better known as "Farmer D," a local organic gardening guru who's becoming more popular nationally by the day. We ran and interview and also shot video. Check it out.
  5. : Headlines don't get more to the point than that. Lakeside's Jonathan Wittington tossed a no-hitter at North Atlanta. Good news for 's athletics program.
