The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area.

  1. : Not the biggest hyper-local story but easily the most tragic and talked-about event over the past week. We were really lucky.
  2. : An unfortunate byproduct of nice weather: an increase in crime, particularly serious crimes. This week welcomed a particularly sensational one, however.
  3. : The first of two columns about the International Student Center in our community. You'll likely know a heck of a lot more about teaching international students in this county after reading both of Classroom Notes columnist Claudia Keenan's columns.
  4. : A nice round-up on the legislative session from state Sen. Steve Henson and state Rep. Scott Holcomb. The pols touched on issues ranging from a bill to reduce the size of the DeKalb County Board of Education to scant education funding.
  5. : The first story North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch has written about the school, which is in the middle of a significant expansion project that will allow it to start a middle school.
