Community Corner

The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area.

  1. : After weeks of debate over the initial sale price (which was about $200,000 more) the county's board of commissioners finally voted to buy the 6 acres off Lavista Road for a new park. Still, I continue to hear grumbles about the price. We'll continue to follow the issue.
  2. : After having their closed last month, the Medlock community was able to kill a proposal to erect a T-Mobile cell tower on the school's property. In the community, however, towers will go up at and schools.
  3. : It will be interesting to see how these improvements continue to change as MARTA meets with the community.
  4. : Another alarming armed robbery in the Oak Grove neighborhood. Keep your doors locked.
  5. : This movie looks pretty cool. Definitely better than the show on MTV shot at the old Briarcliff High School on North Druid Hills Road. Be on the lookout in September when it's scheduled to be released to theaters.
