The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch.

  1. Leaders Offer Conflicting Views at Second Cityhood Forum: This meeting sort of ended with a whimper, not with a bang. No additional meetings were scheduled. Could this be the end of the cityhood "movement" in the North Druid Hills-Briarcliff area? Time will tell.
  2. Children's Healthcare Moving Into Old 19-Story Hotel: We got tons of traffic off this story. (Someone posted it to reddit.) But it's good to see someone might be getting some use out of that place. It's a striking building. Some say it's ugly. But I always find myself staring at the thing.
  3. : Are armed robberies picking back up? We hadn't had any in a while. This week, we had two, both in apartment complexes, which are, unfortnately, often prime targets for this sort of crime.
  4. Reports: Thieves Steal Catalytic Converters from Cars: Something to be on the lookout for. I don't mean to be alarmist, but if you've got a car and a garage, and you use your garage to store, like, an extra fridge, maybe you should use it to store your car too.
  5. Silverbacks to Be Sold?: It doesn't sound like the Silverbacks are going anywhere. But they may have new management soon.
