The Week in Review

The top five stories from the previous week in North Druid Hills-Briarcliff Patch.

  1. RaceTrac Rezoning Request Withdrawn from County: Pretty big story. What with all the development news making some residents in our community uneasy – and some of them actively protesting – the residents in the Sargent Hills neighborhood were able to stop the construction of RaceTrac gas station on Lawrenceville Highway between Hollywood and Orion drives. But the owner can still try and do something else with the land, so we'll see.
  2. Northlake Man Robbed at Gunpoint Outside Apartment: October was a pretty quiet month for crime. (Not too many incidents involved guns.) That ended last week in Northlake.
  3. St. Pius Football Drops to No. 9 in Rankings: This headline applies to the football team, but the real news last week was about the volleyball team. Check it out.
  4. Cliff Valley School Given Green Award: Good for Cliff Valley School.
  5. PHOTOS: Lakeside Football Loses to Mays: Local photographer Travis Hudgons was nice enough to take a few snaps of the Vikings football game last week. Nice photos. Check them out.
